An enlightened Guru was traveling through a village and he got to meet a man en route.
This man spent time with Guruji and heard about the concept of Brahman. He heard about the illusion of body and mind. One evening Guruji and this man were sitting with a bonfire. The man was dwindling with the concept of Atman and asked Guruji that if we say that we are not the body and nor the mind then would you say that the fire in front of us won’t engulf our body. Guruji stood up and stated that the fire as well this body is in the physical realm hence if I enter into the fire my body will get burnt. While this body will go through the pain however whether I suffer because of this pain is purely my choice.
As Guruji explains this profound learning that we can be put through pain but to suffer or not is our choice - no one can force any suffering on us.
Guruji also explained the genres of Enlightened Gurus by stating their ways of helping mankind. Few Gurus hold their blessings in the way of an umbrella protecting others. This causes their physical body to go through pain and that at times shows up in the form of diseases. However, this pain never causes any suffering to these divine souls. However, an Aghori Guru won’t open the umbrella rather allow us to face the rain but will help us to learn how we can dance in the puddle while getting drenched.
Guruji, your way of relating to these intricate and poignant learnings through these simple yet impactful stories and examples, is PROFOUND - As you say your way is no way yet it’s such a remarkable way to stay focused on the path to attain ultimate bliss.
Tatvamasi - Aham Brahmasmi.
